How to Spot Signs of Condensation

One of the most common problems to affect properties in the UK is condensation. If left untreated, it can not only cause damage to walls, floors and furniture but can also trigger serious health conditions. Therefore, it’s extremely important to identify the problem as soon as possible so that you can keep yourself and those around you safe.

Spotting condensation

The biggest tell-tale sign of condensation is excess the moisture in the air which streams down surfaces like walls, windows and doors. This can happen from time to time, especially in winter when it’s cold, but if it happens often it suggests that your property has issues with ventilation.

Because the water lands on your walls and other surfaces, you may also notice that some areas of the property are damp. Over time, this can lead to peeling or discoloured wallpaper, so this is something you should look out for.

You will also need to check whether there is any mould present in the building. Condensation creates the perfect environment for mould spores to germinate, so if left untreated, this more serious problem could develop in the future.
